Night Lights

I have spent this beautiful (and very HOT) Sunday making two nightlights (one for my son and one for my great niece Jeanne). Below the pictures is a free file of the lady bug that I created for Jeanne's light. Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

I made Aiden's two sided and he picked out the files he wanted on each side. I picked out the verbiage LOL

My hopes that he always loves live!

Jeanne's mom calls her Buggy and has lots of lady bug things for her so it was perfect for her nightlight.

It's been a while :)

It has been a while since I have posted anything new on here and for that I apologize. It has been a crazy summer with me undergoing two hand surgeries two weeks apart to fix the carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. I am still in the healing stage as one was done two weeks ago and the other a month ago. They are healing up nicely and I can craft a little bit more now without having to take long breaks in between! Thank you Lord for an amazing doctor and physical therapist!!

As most of you who visit my blog know I am a big fan of SVG Cuts . They have recently started an affiliates program to which I am a member. So if you like some of the projects you see here, a fan of theirs too, or are looking for fantastic svg files at great prices then please check them out by using the banner link at the top of my blog.

The Christmas in July Crop was a huge success over at Black Cat USA, if you haven't checked out this new forum please do so. It is not just for Black Cat cutter owners, it is open to everyone and every machine! We have a lot of fun and there are many more fun crops, challenges and blog hops planned over the next months!

Also, Rob over at Scrappy Dew has some FABULOUS new files and some great tutorials for the new Make-the-Cut software. I believe the new version is still in Beta version but from what I have used of it so far I am LOVING it! So make sure and check out Rob's new stuff - including the awesome digi stamps!

Now, this is a long post, and I apologize, I have some recent projects to show you.

This first one is a shape book I made using the Fire Trucks, Fire Fighter Kidz and Fire Supplies sets from Scrappy Dew Imagination sets . My little boy is going to get this as well as one of a Police Car and an Ambulance for Christmas this year. I will fill each book in with pictures of him at various trips he has made to the fire station, my work (there are lots of police cars around there) and the ambulance bays. I will also journal in them about these excursions.  Shape books are so much fun to make, just find a file that you think would make a good book shape, layer all the pieces together and then increase the size to how big you want the book. I like to use cereal boxes to cut the front and back covers and then cover them with cardstock. This just gives a little more stability to the covers of the book. You could also do a double layer of cardstock if you don't have any chipboard or cereal box weight cardboard.

This project was done using the free file  "Baby's First Christmas" file set from SVG Cuts Baby's First Christmas file
I simply removed the word "Baby" from my virtual mat and replaced it with my grandson Joey's name. He was born this past May, so we will have fun this little book to capture precious moments from his first Christmas this year.

The "Christmas Memories" title is a free file that you can grab here at SVG Cuts Christmas Memories file and the "JOY" is available for free here at SVG Cuts - Joy Baubles  (I kind of messed up when I was putting this file together so they are not the baubles in my book LOL)

Thanks for taking a look at my two new shape books, I hope they can give you some ideas of things to create!

I'll be posting some more projects and few new free files this weekend so check back.
