Busy days, nights, weekends

I have been working on getting things ready for National Telecommunications Week (April 11-17). A lot of things going on at work and trying to decide what I am going to do with my career. Thirteen years in emergency dispatch is a long time, burn out is typically 5 years. I think I am a late bloomer in the area of burn out. Easter cards are made and going in the mail tomorrow.

A few people have requested specific files on some of the groups I belong too. I was able to create a few of them from coloring pages. Plus this past week our challenge was to turn a coloring page into a cut on MTC. Below are a few of the new files. If I don't have an SVG or MTC file of the one you want posted just leave me a message with your email and I will send it to you.

(Anyone that knows me and Aiden please note the information on this picture is just written on there to show how information could be put directly on the cut. I know that Aiden is only 2 1/2 and no there is no pizza party at Idaho Pizza on June 12th LOL)

I think my son-in-law may want something like this (no gray hair though) as he is the avid bowler in the family.

Just a cute little frog (well it's pretty big on the MTC screen but you can shrink him)

For my sister the Turtle :)

I haven't cute this one yet. It was my first experience of welding a basic shape to another shape to make a card base. Worked pretty well.

I wish I still had my ring that had a claddagh on it.

Well that's about it for now. I'm sure there will be more to come soon. (Amended April 11, 2010)

PS I added the SVG files today :)

wow, it's been a few days

Well I have been busy at work and trying to come up with some ideas for the upcoming National Telecommunications Week. I can't go into detail here because people from work read this from time to time LOL.

I have been spending my free time playing with the new version of Make The Cut software!!! If you don't have this, head over to Make The Cut

If you are still unsure, check out Yahoo Groups Make the Cut, MTC-Hints and Tips or MTC_Tuts. You can meet great people at any of these sites and learn a ton about the software.

I have finally had a moment to make my Grandson Mason his Easter card. Now I need to get them in the mail. The "peeps" on this card are from Melanie at Mommymelsaddiction the chocolate bunny is from the Easter Solutions cart.  Inside it says "That's what you are to me! HAPPY EASTER"

Granddaughter's Easter Card

I made this for my Granddaughter Bonnie for Easter. The bunny in the wagon is from Mommy Mel's Addiction. Melanie thanks so much for sharing this file!

I used some yellow and blue stickles on the egg, two cuts of the grass (layered them one on top of the other and put the wheel of the wagon in between them), added a double layered flower that is curled and dimensional  and stamped and colored a butterfly in the corner. I am playing with embossing powder and a heat tool so this card got a little of everything LOL.

New fleece critter - purple puppy

A friend asked if I could make a purple puppy for his wife. Well I hadn't done a puppy before. Last weekend my attempt to make this kicked my butt! LOL Here is my second attempt. I hope he likes it.

My first attempt at a spinner card

The group MTC Hints and Tips (on Yahoo) conducts a weekly challenge among its members, just something to keep our creative juices going. I jumped in on this one as I am finally ready to start making cards.  I need to move the flower on this a little as you can see a touch of the penny, but the Stickles have to dry first LOL! The slot could be just a tad bit wider so the wording comes through easier.

Looking forward to hearing what you all think!

Shopping -- new toys :)

Well it's been a very long week, I ended the work week with a quick shopping trip to Craft Warehouse and Hobby Lobby in search of snap in eyes for my fleece critters (that purple puppy will not get the best of me this weekend!!). Well needless to say I left those two stores with much more than I went in for. It never fails! I have been looking at this whole world of creating cards, stamping and embossing. I love my Cuttlebug but really haven't put it to work yet. :( I have been playing with some acrylic and digi stamps but again really haven't put them to work. The heat embossing intrigued me.

So today, I bought some embossing powder, a tray and a heat embossing tool!!!! But it didn't stop there! I found some embossing sleeves on sale and picked up some more of those for my Cuttlebug! Oh but no...it didn't stop there either!!!! I also found Stickles at Craft Warehouse and bought four of those! Oh and they had the Easter Solutions cart on sale for $19.93 so I grabbed that too.

Oh wait...what did I come in these stores for??? Oh yeah animal eyes and thread.....I got those as well. I know better than go over to the paper crafting section....I really know better....but couldn't stop myself! Now let's see if I can put this all to work this weekend! Oh and make another purple dog! LOL

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

Critters don't like me tonight!

After multiple interruptions today I gave up on trying to make even one fleece critter today. The one purple dog was working out well until I realized the face was cockeyed and the eyes don't line up! LOL Poor dog! Guess the grandson gets this one to play with as I can't take the eyes off now. Lessons learned, place the eyes after the head is all sewed together and attached to the body, not before (like patterns tell you to do). Oh well. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I have a very early day so I am off for the night!

More critters to come -- sewing today

After posting the pictures of my two fleece critters I received requests for others. So today will primarily be spent making a purple dog, a pink and black frog and a black and gray gorilla! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hugs and Peace!

Easter Egg free SVG and MTC files

I had a lot of fun making these eggs from free coloring pages. Some day I hope to start trying my hand at actually creating from scratch, only problem is I'm not very artistic LOL. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these files. I have pictures posted of each one, these were quick cut outs so I could show you what the files look like. Enjoy and have a great day!

Smiles brought to my face :)

After a long day at work, grocery shopping and getting the little one ready for bed I finally have a couple of minutes to check emails and saw that I had new comments on my blog. Thank you all for the nice comments on the various things I have posted. I am glad some people have downloaded the svg and/or mtc files I posted. I have been working on a few Easter egg files and hope to have the free svg and mtc files posted later this week or by the weekend at the latest. Thanks to all of you that stopped by for brightening my day!
